Our Story

Every love story starts somewhere. Ours began in a bowling alley.

Beth was just 13 when she first met Greg, who was 16 and working for her mum. While Greg carried on completely unaware, Beth had a huge crush on him from the moment they met. They never really spoke after that, and over the years their lives simply carried on in different directions.

Fast forward five years to Beth's university leaving party, when one mutual friend decided to take matters into his own hands. He grabbed Beth's phone, added Greg on Snapchat, and unknowingly changed both of their lives.

From that day on, they spoke every single day. With Beth studying in Aberystwyth, seeing each other wasn't easy, but somehow they skipped the "just friends" stage completely. They quickly became each other's favourite person, always finding time to talk, laugh and simply be there for one another.

Their first date came that December, watching planes take off and land at the end of Stansted's runway. It may not sound romantic to everyone else, but to them, it was perfect. Just a few weeks later, after celebrating New Year's Eve with Greg's friends, Greg asked Beth to be his girlfriend as the clock struck a new year.

Over the years they've built a life full of laughter, adventures and plenty of inside jokes. Greg brings out Beth's wonderfully silly side (she still insists she was completely normal before she met him!), and together they've made countless memories-from exploring rainy Christmas markets in Budapest to navigating two years of long-distance while Greg regularly made 5-6 hour drives every other weekend just to spend time together. In November 2024, after years of dreaming and planning, they finally bought their first home together.

Then came Cologne.

Just three hours into a Christmas market trip in 2025, Greg handed Beth a small package. Inside was a personalised Christmas decoration that read "Beth & Greg - Engaged 2025." As Beth looked up, Greg was already down on one knee. Before she could even say "yes", she burst into tears and practically launched herself into him. It was everything she'd never expected and everything she'd ever hoped for. To make it even more special, Greg had secretly asked both of Beth's parents for their blessing and had been planning the proposal for months.

Nine and a half years after one message changed everything, we're about to begin our greatest adventure yet.

We can't wait to celebrate with all of our favourite people as we finally say "I do", before continuing to explore the world, build our life together, and officially become the best team we know.
